Braces

Braces are a way of straightening or moving your teeth to a preferred direction to improve the appearance of your smile and help with the long-term health of your teeth and gums. Braces put pressure onto your teeth and the jaw changes to allow the teeth and their roots to move. Most braces are made of metal, ceramic or plastic designed to be comfortable, but they may rub your mouth or make it feel sore and tender. These issues generally do not last long, but it is important to remember that your mouth will adjust to them and do their purpose only if you keep wearing them. The treatment range may take anything from a few months to two-and-a-half years depending on the position of your teeth. In general, it is important to have good oral hygiene and regular checkup while you are having orthodontic treatment to keep the braces in good shape.
