Root Canals

Root canals also are known as endodontic treatment is an invasive procedure that repairs and saves a badly decayed or infected tooth via local anesthesia. This procedure cleans very thoroughly and removes the pulp and nerve of the tooth. Then, canals are enlarged to replace it with a special filler and then the tooth is sealed. Sometimes for further structural protection, a metal post or crown is set.

Many teeth are saved and treated by a root canal throughout the year, reducing pain and making teeth healthy again because without a treatment the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and caused an abscess. The procedure can be done in one or two appointments with your dentist. It is painless and surely effective to give you back the ability to bite, chew and smile with comfort.

After the procedure, you will most likely be numb for about 2-4 hours, most patients are able to return to their normal activities. However, it is recommended not to eat until all the numbness is completely gone.
